Mini Qualitative Study Proposal

🎯 Purpose

This assignment allows you to apply the concepts of qualitative research by designing a short proposal. You will demonstrate your understanding of research designs, data collection methods, coding & thematic analysis, trustworthiness, and ethics.

📝 Instructions

Prepare a 3–5 page proposal (Word or PDF) including the following sections:

1. Title & Introduction

   • State your research topic.

   • Explain why a qualitative approach is appropriate.

2. Research Questions

   • List 1–2 open-ended research questions.

3. Qualitative Design

   • Choose from Case Study, Ethnography, Grounded Theory, Phenomenology, or Narrative.

   • Justify why this design fits your study.

4. Data Collection Method(s)

   • Select one or more (Interview, Focus Group, Observation, Document Analysis).

   • Provide sample questions or observation focus.

5. Analysis Plan

   • Describe how you will code and identify themes (manual or software such as NVivo/Atlas.ti).

6. Trustworthiness

   • Explain how you will ensure Credibility, Transferability, Dependability, and Confirmability.

7. Ethical Considerations

   • Address informed consent, confidentiality, minimizing harm, and data protection.

• Citation: Use APA 7th edition for any references.
