I havent yet administered the questionnaire to a real sample and therefore do not have Cronbach's Alpha values to report. However, there are steps I have taken into consideration to make this questionaire reliable,
- My questionaire has 32 items across 8 domains, with 4 items per domain. When writing items, I tried to ensure that each domain had ONE single coherent focus, like A is for classroom management, B is for developmental milestones. The logic is simple: if 4 items measures the same construct, teachers who rate themselves highly on one should also rate highly on the other. Therefor, I am a little bit confident about my scales' reliability.
- The absolute worst thing about writing/adapting the items is balancing both the distinctiveness and the consistency. Some items read naturally but some feel slightly forced, and I had to revise many times to make sure that it is still at least reliable.
- The thing I would do before writing the next draft is to pilot the instruments verbally with 2-3 teachers before distributing the full thing
