In my study, Principal Axis Factoring (PAF) was used as the extraction method to identify underlying constructs of students’ perceptions of Kahoot. A Varimax rotation was applied to achieve a clear and simple factor structure.

The KMO value was approximately 0.80, indicating good sampling adequacy. Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity was significant (p < .001), showing that the data were suitable for factor analysis.

A total of 15 items were analyzed, and 3 factors were retained based on eigenvalues greater than 1 and the scree plot. These factors can be interpreted as:

  • Learning Motivation (interest, enjoyment, attention)
  • Student Engagement (participation, interaction)
  • Perceived Effectiveness (understanding, performance improvement)

Most items had loadings above .50, which is acceptable. However, a few items showed minor cross-loadings, suggesting some overlap between motivation and engagement, which is common in educational contexts.
