The results showed that Vietnamese participants (M = 3.85, SD = 0.72) reported higher use of indirect refusal strategies than American participants (M = 3.20, SD = 0.68). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant, t(58) = 3.45, p = .001.

The effect size, measured by Cohen’s d, was 0.89, indicating a large effect size.
