Reflection on Reliability (Kahoot questionnaire)

I am fairly confident in the reliability of my scale. The Cronbach’s Alpha for my questionnaire was approximately 0.84, which indicates good internal consistency. This suggests that the items within each construct (motivation, engagement, and effectiveness) are measuring the same underlying concept.

One challenge I faced was making sure that all items were clear and focused on one idea. At first, some questions were too general or slightly overlapping, especially between motivation and engagement. It was sometimes difficult to avoid similar wording while still covering different aspects of the construct.

In the next draft, I would improve the scale by revising or removing overlapping items and adding a few reverse-coded items to reduce response bias. I would also pilot the questionnaire with a small group to check clarity and consistency before collecting the main data.

It’s interesting that you mentioned Kahoot questionnaire! If your Alpha was a bit lower than you expected, did you check the 'Cronbach's Alpha if Item Deleted' column in your SPSS output? Sometimes there is one specific 'bad' question that, if removed, significantly boosts the reliability of the whole scale. Do you think any of your questions might have been interpreted differently by different people?
