In my study, I want to examine whether a new teaching method improves students’ English vocabulary scores. I divide participants into two groups: one group uses the new method, while the other uses a traditional method.
The data come from two different groups of participants (each student is only in one group), and I will compare their test scores after the intervention.
Test Decision: Independent Samples t-test
I would use an independent samples t-test because:
There are two separate groups
The participants in each group are different individuals
I want to compare the mean scores between these two groups
This test is appropriate for determining whether the difference in mean scores between the two teaching methods is statistically significant.
