I want to share a win because this forum has helped me before. My 2013 Mercedes E250 had the classic 7G Tronic issue where it would get stuck in park and show a "transmission malfunction" warning on the dash. I could sometimes get it to work by restarting the car, but it kept getting worse. The dealer in Dubai diagnosed it as a failed conductor plate and quoted me 9,200 dirhams including parts and labor. I almost cried. A colleague told me to try a transmission specialist in Sharjah instead of the dealer. I did some research and found a top rated gearbox repair sharjah shop that had good reviews from Mercedes owners. I drove the car there on a Saturday, they replaced the conductor plate with a genuine ZF part, did a full fluid flush, and reprogrammed the transmission. Total cost 2,550 dirhams including a six month warranty. That was three months ago and the car has been perfect. I know some people are scared of Sharjah garages, but if you find a real specialist with good reviews, you can save an absolute fortune. The dealer markup on transmissions is criminal. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is facing the same issue. Happy to give the shop name if you DM me. Hope this helps someone.
