1. Working research title / topic
English Speaking Confidence Development through Short-term International Exchange Activities at HUFLIT.

2. Main research aim / objective: The main aim of this study is to find out how short-term international exchange activities at HUFLIT help students become more confident when speaking English. I want to see if these programs actually help students feel less nervous during conversations.

3. Research questions

  • Is there a difference in English speaking confidence between HUFLIT students who have participated in short-term international exchange activities and those who have not?
  • To what extent do short-term international exchange activities influence HUFLIT students’ English speaking confidence?

4. Planned methodology (Quantitative) I will use a quantitative approach with a survey. I plan to collect data from 60 HUFLIT students. To make the results clearer, I will compare two groups: 30 students who have joined an exchange program and 30 students who have not. The survey will use a 1-to-5 scale (Likert scale) to measure how confident they feel. After collecting the answers, I will use simple statistics to compare the two groups and see the differences.

- This is a great research plan! Your project is clear, easy to do, and matches what many universities are doing today.
- To make your research questions better, I suggest going deeper than just asking "is there a difference." You could look at exactly how their confidence changes. For example, does the trip help them feel less nervous, or does it make them want to talk to others more?
- Overall, your plan is well-organized. Using a 1-to-5 scale (Likert scale) is the perfect way to collect data because it is easy to analyze. Your topic is very important for helping students become "global citizens," and your results could help HUFLIT make their exchange programs even better.
