Research Topic: Digital Gamification in Vocabulary Acquisition

Research Aim & Objectives

·       The main goal of this study is to see how using the website Blooket (a game-based learning tool) helps first-year students at Ton Duc Thang University who are not English majors learn new vocabulary.

·       Check if Blooket helps students remember vocabulary better in the short term and long term.

·       Find out how students feel about learning vocabulary through games compared to traditional memorization.

Research Questions
  • ·Does using Blooket improve the English vocabulary test scores of first-year non-English major students at TDTU?
  • ·       How do students feel about Blooket in terms of motivation and interest during vocabulary lessons?
Methodology

·       This study will use Mixed Methods.

  •      Quantitative: Students will take a vocabulary test before and after using Blooket. One group will use Blooket and another group will not. The scores will be compared to see if Blooket makes a difference.
  •      Qualitative: Students will be asked questions in interviews and surveys. These will help understand their experiences, whether they enjoyed learning with Blooket, and if they faced any problems (like technical issues or stress from competition).
