My working research title is “The Impact of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) on Vocabulary Acquisition among EFL Students at HUFLIT University.” This study focuses on the increasing use of mobile technology in language learning and its potential to enhance vocabulary development among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students.
The main aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of mobile-assisted language learning applications in improving students’ vocabulary acquisition and retention. Specifically, the study seeks to examine how the use of mobile learning tools influences students’ vocabulary performance, explore students’ perceptions and attitudes toward learning vocabulary through mobile applications, and identify challenges encountered when using MALL in vocabulary instruction.
The study is guided by the following research questions:
(1) How does the use of mobile-assisted language learning applications affect vocabulary acquisition among EFL students at HUFLIT University?
(2) What are EFL students’ perceptions of using mobile applications for learning vocabulary?
(3) Is there a significant difference in vocabulary retention between students who use mobile learning applications and those who use traditional learning methods?
This study adopts a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative data will be collected through vocabulary tests to measure students’ vocabulary gains and retention, while qualitative data will be gathered through questionnaires or interviews to explore students’ perceptions and challenges related to the use of mobile-assisted language learning.
