Research questions:
1. What speaking difficulties do Vietnamese working adult EFL learners perceive in a language center?
2. What factors do learners perceive as contributing to these speaking difficulties?
3. How do these perceived difficulties affect learners’ participation in speaking activities?
Objectives:
- To identify the speaking difficulties perceived by Vietnamese working adult EFL learners in a language center.
- To examine the factors that learners perceive as contributing to their speaking difficulties.
- To investigate how these perceived speaking difficulties affect learners’ participation in classroom speaking activities.
methodology:
This study employs a mixed-methods approach using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The quantitative data aim to identify common speaking difficulties and contributing factors, while the qualitative data provide in-depth insights into how these difficulties affect learners’ participation in speaking activities.
