The Mechanics of Distributional Semantics
This interactive space visualizes how computers extract syntax and semantics without human definitions. According to J.R. Firth’s famous aphorism: "You shall know a word by the company it keeps."
By looking at millions of sentences, the system maps words into a continuous space of 300 variables. Geometrically, vectors representing proportional changes (such as changes in gender or tense) point in identical structural directions across the vocabulary map.
