- 👉 How might a qualitative approach help you understand your problem differently compared to a quantitative one?
After studying qualitative research methods, I believe this approach can give better results for my research question than a quantitative approach. What quantitative research does is look at numbers and overall trends, but what qualitative research does is allow me to get into participants’ experiences, their points of view, and the root causes. Also, it is very useful for looking at complex issues that statistics alone may not fully present.
- 👉 Which qualitative methods (interviews, focus groups, observation, etc.) could be most relevant for your study?
Among the qualitative research methods I am using for my study, I think I will go with semi-structured interviews, which will also allow me to get in-depth, personal responses from participants.
- 👉 Do you see potential for mixed-methods in your project?
I see potential for a mixed-methods approach in my project. What we can get from quantitative data, which is a large-scale picture of trends, and from qualitative data, which is an in-depth look into what causes those trends. By putting both together, I will get a better picture of my research topic.
