Research Proposal: Utilizing Interactive Technology in Language Pedagogy

Working Research Title: The Impacts of Edpuzzle Mobile App on Listening Skills for Non-English Major Students at [Your College/University].

Main Research Aim & Objectives: The primary aim is to investigate how interactive video tools can bridge the gap between passive listening and active comprehension. Following the principle of describing linguistic tools thoroughly before assessing their impact, this study seeks to determine if the "embedded questioning" feature of Edpuzzle enhances information retention more effectively than traditional methods.

Research Questions:

1. How does the integration of Edpuzzle impact the listening comprehension scores of non-English major students?

2. Have you considered how students’ anxiety levels might decrease when they have control over video playback and receive immediate feedback?

Planned Methodology (Mixed Methods): I plan to adopt a Mixed Methods approach to capture both numerical data and human experience .

  • Quantitative: Pre-tests and post-tests to measure statistical growth in listening proficiency.

  • Qualitative: Surveys to explore student perceptions and engagement levels.
