Objectives:
1. To examine the extent to which the use of the Quizlet app improves the TOEIC listening competence of non-English major university students who previously studied at Tan Chau High School in Tay Ninh.
2. To investigate students’ attitudes and motivation toward learning TOEIC listening through the Quizlet app.
3. To identify the perceived benefits and challenges of using the Quizlet app in TOEIC listening practice as reported by the students. (focus on usefulness, practicality, limitations)
Planned methodology:
This study will adopt a mixed-methods approach.
- Quantitative data will be collected through a TOEIC listening pre-test and post-test and a questionnaire administered to approximately 20–25 students to measure listening improvement and students’ opinions and attitudes toward using Quizlet.
- Qualitative data will be gathered through semi-structured interviews with about 8 students from different proficiency levels to explore their perceptions of the usefulness and practicality of the Quizlet app in TOEIC listening practice.
- The quantitative and qualitative data will be analyzed separately and then integrated to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of Quizlet in enhancing TOEIC listening competence.
