Research Topic/Title: The Impact of the iPro2 mobile application on Speaking Competence among iSMART Students at Ton That Tung Secondary School.

Main Research Aim/Objectives: This study aims to measure the change in students' English speaking competence after one term of using the iPro2 application, and explore students' perceptions and attitudes, as well as the challenges and opportunities teachers encounter when integrating this application into teaching.

Research Questions (RQs):

  1. To what extent does the iPro2 app improve the speaking performance of iSMART students at Ton That Tung Secondary school?

  2. What are the students' and teachers' perceptions and experiences regarding the usefulness and usability of iPro2 for speaking practice?

  3. How does iPro2-supported speaking practice compare to traditional methods in terms of student engagement and learning outcomes?

Planned Methodology: The research will employ a Mixed Methods approach.

  • Quantitative: Using pre- and post-speaking tests to measure competence change, combined with a Likert-scale survey to collect data on student perceptions and attitudes.

  • Qualitative: Conducting semi-structured interviews with teachers and a focus group of students to gather in-depth information on experiences, challenges, and practical suggestions.
