Just got back from a week in the Northern Emirates and the rental car they gave me had that start-stop function, which was my first real experience with it. Honestly, it kept throwing me off because every time I paused at a roundabout the engine would just die and then wake up when I touched the clutch. It felt weird but I guess I could get used to it. Now I'm actually in the market to buy my own car here in Dubai and I'm torn between a couple of models, some have this feature and some don't. I'm trying to figure out what makes more sense for city driving because I do a lot of stop-and-go around Deira and Bur Dubai. I've been looking online for tips for choosing the right car power source that actually apply to our driving conditions here, not just general advice from cold countries. Like, does the battery handle the heat better in some cars compared to others? I remember skimming an article from a local website that touched on the different battery requirements but now I can't find it. Would love some real-world opinions on whether this tech is worth seeking out or if it's just another thing that might break in the summer.
